This article describes the Pitchup.com channel connection in RMS, including the data exchanged with RMS and how to set up Pitch Mapping.
Overview
Pitchup.com is an online booking channel that can be connected to RMS via the Channel Manager. Once connected, Pitchup.com and RMS exchange availability, rate, restriction, and reservation data automatically.
This article outlines which data is sent and received between Pitchup.com and RMS, and provides a reference for the supported and unsupported functions of the integration.
From 20 July 2026, you can also link each of your Pitchup pitches to a specific area in RMS using Pitch Mapping, so Pitchup can offer guests reliable multi-night stays on the same pitch. See the Pitch Mapping section below.
Key Points
- Pitchup.com supports single reservations and cancellations.
- From 20 July 2026, you can map each Pitchup pitch to a specific RMS area using Pitch Mapping, so Pitchup can guarantee the same pitch across every night of a multi-night stay.
- Email confirmations for bookings made through Pitchup.com are sent by Pitchup.com, not by RMS.
- Live availability is limited to 365 Days.
Preparing to Connect
- Prior to completing the Channel Connection setup to Pitchup.com (REST), an API Key must be generated in the Pitchup.com admin portal.
- To generate the API Key, log into the Pitchup.com admin portal and go to Me > My Details, then copy the API Key.
Connecting Pitchup.com to RMS
To connect Pitchup.com as a channel in RMS, follow the general Channel Connection process. This involves activating the channel in the RMS Channel Manager, mapping your properties, categories, and rate types, and then enabling the connection. As Pitchup is a map-by-area channel, follow Setup OTA Connections by Area to connect Pitchup and map each area.
Pitch (Area) Mapping
Pitchup uses this pitch-level information to keep your availability accurate for multi-night stays, so guests can book the same physical pitch for every night of their stay. This reduces the risk of overbookings that can occur when only pitch-type availability is shared.
Your existing channel mapping, rates and restrictions are not affected. Pitch Mapping is an addition to your existing setup, not a replacement, and your integration keeps working as normal until you complete your pitch mapping.
How to set up Pitchup mapping
- Use Connect to Retrieve Categories to pull your pitch types from Pitchup. Each pitch type is returned as a row to map to a RMS category.
- Map each pitch type to the corresponding RMS category
-
Open the Pitch Mapping tab
-
Click Refresh
to pull your current list of pitches from Pitchup. Every pitch on your Pitchup account will appear as a row.
For each pitch, select the matching RMS area from the dropdown. Areas are shown as Category - Area to make them easy to identify.
-
Once every pitch is mapped, hit the Save icon
and then Save the channel.
From this point, RMS sends pitch-level updates to Pitchup as bookings are made, changed or cancelled.
Keep your mapping in sync: If you add, remove or rename pitches on your Pitchup extranet, return to the Pitch Mapping tab, click Refresh, remap as needed, and Save. Any pitch that has been removed on Pitchup will be flagged as Invalid so you can spot it easily.
On the Reservation Settings tab, ensure Send area assignments to Pitchup is enabled. This controls whether RMS sends pitch-level booking, cancellation and area-move updates to Pitchup in real time.
