Information on integrating Salto with RMS using the Door Locks module.
Overview
The Assa Abloy VisiOnline Door Lock module enables integration with Assa Abloy's VisiOnline key encoders. The Door Locks module for Assa Abloy VisiOnline enables encoding keys with VisiOnline directly from the Reservation in RMS to provide a Guest access to their Area.
Assa Abloy VisiOnline Module Activation
- Navigate to the Module Market.
- Select 'Access Control' as the Module Type.
- Select the 'Activate' Toggle on the Door Locks module with the Partner as 'Assa Abloy VisiOnline'.
- Select the Properties to associate with Assa Abloy VisiOnline.
- Read the Terms & Conditions.
- Select the 'Activate Door Locks' button.
Multi-Function Interface (MFI) Configuration
The Assa Abloy VisiOnline module requires the RMS MFI Processor, which can be activated in the Module Market if not already in use at the Property. Once the Multi Function Interface (MFI) Cloud Processor application has been installed and connected to RMS, the door lock module can be configured.
- Open the MFI Processor and navigate to Setup > Configuration.
- Navigate to the 'Door Locks' tab.
- Select 'Assa Abloy' as the Door Lock.
- Enter the VisiOnline Username.
- Enter the VisiOnline Password.
- Enter the VisiOnline Endpoint.

- Select the Area Source; this will be how Assa Abloy understands your areas.
- Area Name: Area Name in RMS.
- Area ID: Numerical Identifier created by RMS.
- User Defined 1: Area Spare Field 1.
- User Defined 2: Area Spare Field 2.
- User Defined 3: Area Spare Field 3.
- Select the Key Expiry Option.
- Use Default: Default Expiry Time set below.
- Use Key Cut Value: Departure Time sent by RMS during key creation.
- Select the Default Expiry Time.
- Select the Card Type.

- TLCode
- Select the Interconnecting Options.
- Master Only
- Master & Physical
- Physical Only
- Select 'Save'.
Area Mapping Options
- Area Mapping can be completed by selecting the Area Source as 'Area Name' in the MFI Processor if the Area Description in RMS matches the Area Name in VisiOnline.
- If the Area Description and Area Name do not match, Area Mapping can be completed by using the Area 'Spare Field 1' in System Labels set as 'Door Number' and entering the VisiOnline Door Number on each Area in RMS.
Enabling the Area 'Door Number' Field
- Go to Setup > Property Options > Labels.
- Navigate to the 'Area' menu.
- In Spare Field 1, enter 'Door Number'.
- Select 'Save/Exit'.
Mapping the 'Door Number' to an Area
- Navigate to Setup > Category/Area.
- Select 'Edit' on an existing Category.
- Navigate to the 'Area' menu.
- Highlight an Area.
- Select 'Edit'.
- Navigate to 'User Fields' menu.
- Enter the 'Door Number' in User Field 1.
- Select 'Save/Exit'.
Key Encoder Configuration
VisiOnline Key Encoders can be added in RMS after module activation to enable encoding keys directly from a Reservation.
- Navigate to Setup > Door Locks > Key Encoders.
- Select 'Add'.
- Enter the key encoder Description (20 characters maximum. The Description MUST match the setup in Assa Abloy).
- Select 'Save/Exit'.
Key Creation from RMS
Keys can be encoded on the Reservation using the 'Key' icon. The Key Serial Number will be recorded on the Reservation Audit Trail.
- Open a reservation and use the
'Key' icon to open the Key Cut window.
- Confirm the Encoder.
- Confirm the Number of Keys to Cut.
- Click the
'Key' icon to create keys on the selected encoder.
- Select 'Ok' to continue.
- Keys created from RMS will appear in the reservation Audit Trail for reference.
