Details on setting up the Gratuity/Tipping option on RMS Pay terminals.

Overview

RMS Pay is a fully integrated payment solution that provides PCI-compliant credit card storage and payment processing.
Properties using RMS Pay EFTPOS Terminals/Credit Card Machines can opt to enable the Tipping/Gratuity option.

The guest can then enter the Tip/Gratuity amount as required and process it along with the charge amount sent to the EFTPOS terminal/Credit Card Machine from RMS.

RMS Pay Tipping is compatible with all RMS Pay EFTPOS terminals/Credit Card Machines, and Tips do not incur any taxes.

For Properties using Dynamic Surcharging, the surcharge will apply to both the amount sent to the EFTPOS terminal/Credit Card Machine from RMS and the Tip.

For Properties using the standard Transaction fees setup, the Transaction fee will apply only to the amount sent to the EFTPOS terminal/Credit Card Machine from RMS.

Once activated, the option to Tip will be displayed on the RMS Pay Terminal before the user verifies the payment transaction. 

Guide

Before activating Tips, you will need to ensure that you have a General Ledger Code created for Tips.   

Navigate to Setup > Property Options > Property Information.

1. Select Edit on an existing Property.
   
    
2. Navigate to the Payment Gateway tab.
3. Select Enable Terminal Tipping.
4. Select the GL Acc Code.
5. Select Save/Exit.
