This guide explains how to set up the Dormakaba door lock integration in RMS, configure the Multi-Function Interface (MFI) Processor, add Key Encoders, and encode room keys from a reservation.
Overview
The Dormakaba Door Locks module in RMS enables integration with Dormakaba lock systems, including Saflok 6000, ATLAS, Rezshield, and E-Plex. Once configured, you can encode keys or send digital keys directly from a reservation using a connected Dormakaba key encoder.
The integration requires two separate configurations that work together:
- RMS Configuration: Activating the Door Locks module and entering your Dormakaba credentials in RMS.
- MFI Processor Configuration: Configuring the Multi-Function Interface (MFI) Processor application on the local workstation to connect RMS with the Dormakaba hardware.
Both configurations must be completed before keys can be encoded from RMS.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, confirm the following:
- You have the Dormakaba username, password, and web service URL or endpoint (provided by Dormakaba).
- The Dormakaba software is installed and working on the local workstation.
- You have the Daily Password from RMS Customer Support (contact RMS Support to request this password, which is required during the module configuration step).
- The Area Description in RMS matches the Area Name in the Dormakaba software exactly.

Multi-Function Interface (MFI) Configuration
The Dormakaba Door Locks module requires the RMS MFI (Multi-Function Interface) Processor, which can be activated in the Module Market if not already in use at the property.
Once the MFI Cloud Processor application has been installed and connected to RMS, the Door Lock module can be configured in the MFI Processor.
Submit a Ticket with RMS Customer Support to assist with configuration if required.
- Open the MFI Processor and navigate to Setup > Configuration.

Key Encoder Configuration
After the module is activated and the MFI Processor is configured, Dormakaba key encoders must be added in RMS to enable encoding keys from a reservation.
In the side menu of RMS, go to Setup > Door Locks > Key Encoders.
- Select 'Add'.
- Enter a Description (20 characters maximum).
Enter the Encoder ID (This option will only display when connected with a Door Lock partner that requires this information). - Select 'Save/Exit'.
Key Creation from RMS
Once setup is complete, keys can be encoded directly from a reservation. The Key Serial Number will be recorded on the Reservation Audit Trail for reference.
